I answered an ad about 20 years ago in the newspaper for a position as a legal assistant at a large tax resolution firm, that you probably once saw advertising on TV. At the time, I was not aware that the IRS would actually negotiate to resolve the tax debt of individuals and businesses who owed them large amounts of money. The general public is still unaware of this, and the IRS does not generally promote this fact or program. I was so intrigued by the services offered by this company, that I accepted the position there, and over the years learned the ins and outs of the tax resolution industry first hand.
The fact that the IRS will take a huge debt and settle with a person (as long they meet specific qualifications) for a fraction of what they owe was to me heartwarming and phenomenal. I loved what I was doing in terms of helping many fearful and stressed taxpayers.
Sadly, I began to get calls from clients telling me the service they signed up for had not been delivered, or that they couldn’t get a return phone call from anyone in the company regarding their questions or concerns. As time went by, I knew in my heart that I could no longer continue to work for this company in good conscience.
Over time, I realized that I was in the wrong place after determining that the focus of the company was not on the client. Complaints were littered everywhere. As I began to research other tax resolution companies I saw on TV, I found their Better Business Bureau listings were all less than satisfactory, and I was saddened to see the numbers of complaints.
One day my husband suggested that we start a highly ethical tax resolution company ourselves, designed to give quality results and service. With that suggestion, Tax Tiger was born.
I liken our founding to a David and Goliath story, because we began as a very small company with only a few employees and were competing against the giants in the industry. Today, we still face off against the industry giants, but God has blessed our company and we continue to expand across the nation and our talented and dedicated staff has grown.
